Hi everyone! Ted Schmidt here, ActionCOACH Northwest.

As a business owner sometimes it is a struggle to let go of things. It can be difficult to let your team handle things and delegate tasks to someone, either an internal or external team.

Letting go of things, especially if you’re the founder of the business, you started the business, it’s been your business, it’s your baby, and then all of a sudden your business has grown. “But I like doing what I want to do!” But is it really what you should be doing as the owner of the business? Is it giving your business the benefit of your skills and your expertise in the way that is going to have the most positive impact on your business?

There are certain things that you need to look at as a business owner: what is your time worth? how much is your time worth per hour? And then look at everything you do during the day and determine if it’s really worth your time to be doing that something, or should you delegate it? Should you let go of it? Should you let someone else take it over? If you are so critical in so many areas of your business it’s really hard to leave, isn’t it? It’s really hard to get free of it.

So, you’ve got to get comfortable with training your people well and trusting them, empowering them, and letting them take over. You’ve got to let go of things or you will never leave. Letting go is super important as a business owner, you have got to do it.

Have a great day, I hope this helped you out.
