I did a lunch and learn Master Class not too long ago on how to build a sellable business. What’s important about that? Well, someday you’re going to need to exit the business; whether you sell it, you have children come in, or your employees come in and take it over, you’re leaving at some point. You’re going to exit at some point and that can be, hopefully, under your terms. The other way you go out is they just pop you on a gurney and roll you out of there, and you’re done, right? So, hopefully, you go out walking on your own terms.
It is important to plan for this, it’s important to think about this, it is important to understand what your business needs to be providing, what kind of shape it needs to be in, and what it needs to look like to maximize your ability to exit under your own terms.
